NCINCR-MCB Quantico Commander Col. Joseph M. Murray greeted players and spectators at the 2016 Armed Forces Men’s Basketball Championship in the Barber Physical Activity Center Tuesday morning. Following his comments, spectators filled the bleachers for tip-off of the first game: Marine Corps vs. Air Force. The round-robin tournament began Tuesday, with every team playing each other twice. The top teams will face off in the championship game Monday, Nov. 7. Marine Corps players represent installations around the world, including MCAS New River, MCAS Cherry Point, MCLB Albany, MCB Camp Lejeune, MCB Butler, Okinawa, MCB Camp Lejeune and the Pentagon.
