Non-Profit Organizations
The National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) is the leading nonprofit in providing information and tools to prevent and respond to sexual violence. NSVRC translates research and trends into best practices that help individuals, communities and service providers achieve real and lasting change. NSVRC also works with the media to promote informed reporting. Every April, NSVRC leads Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), a campaign to educate and engage the public in addressing this widespread issue. NSVRC is also one of the three founding organizations of RALIANCE, a national, collaborative initiative dedicated to ending sexual violence in one generation.
Founded in 1975, PCAR works to end sexual violence and advocates for the rights and needs of sexual assault victims.
For over 2 decades, the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence has operated VAWnet, an online network focused on violence against women and other forms of gender-based violence. VAWnet.org has long been identified as an unparalleled, comprehensive, go-to source of information and resources for anti-violence advocates, human service professionals, educators, faith leaders, and others interested in ending domestic and sexual violence.
ValorUS® is a national organization committed to advancing equity and ending sexual violence. Since our founding in 1980, we have continued to build dynamic relationships across a diverse range of communities, institutions and systems, and mobilize our network of survivors and advocates to influence change. Through leadership, prevention, and advocacy, we are fearlessly pursuing a world free from violence where the dignity of every person is valued and respected.
Founded in 1950, the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) is a national, non-partisan non-profit membership association that provides training, technical assistance, and services to prosecutors around the country in support of the prosecution profession. As the oldest and largest association of prosecutors in the country with over 5,500 members, NDAA represents state and local prosecutors’ offices from both urban and rural districts, as well as large and small jurisdictions.
SAFEta.org provides individualized TA by sharing information, resources, referrals, and/or providing training on topics related to adult, adolescent, and pediatric sexual assault and related topics, specifically to the sexual assault responder who wishes to expand their knowledge and/or build their capacity to address sexual assault in their community.
Founded in 1975, NOVA is the oldest national victim assistance organization of its type in the United States and is the recognized leader in victim advocacy, education and credentialing.
This is the portal for members of the William & Mary community to learn about prevention, response protocols and support services for sexual harassment, sexual violence, and other sexual misconduct, including:
- non-consensual sexual intercourse and other forms of sexual assault
- sexual exploitation
- stalking and
- relationship violence.
The resources collected here provide information about reporting and procedures used to hold students accountable for sexual misconduct.
