Jim Ginther, archival team leader for Archives and Special Collections Branch, looks over items from the personal collection of Lt. Col. Alfred Cunningham, the Marine Corps’ first pilot, on Jan. 23, 2014, in the branch’s office in the Gray Research Center. About half of the branch’s collection consists of around 5,800 personal collections from Marines throughout history.
