More than 40 personnel came together for the Falcon Fit Aerobic Marathon June 5 at the Aderholt Fitness Center here.

The aerobathon, hosted by Hurlburt Field Airman's Voice, consisted of zumba, cardio sculpting and hip-hop dancing directed by instructors from a local fitness organization.

"It was a great opportunity to do something other than running and regular [physical training]," said Master Sgt. Lashannon Grant, 1st Special Operations Logistics Readiness Squadron flight maintenance and one of the aerobathon attendees.

The four-hour aerobathon consisted of three hours of exercising with 30-minute breaks every hour.

The eight Airmen who organized the event were pleasantly surprised with the outcome of participants.

"The turnout was better than expected," said Airman 1st Class Rebecca Holley, 1st Special Operations Medical Group health services management. "We were hoping for 15 to 20 participants, but 44 [participants] was exceptional for us."

The Aderholt Fitness Center offers zumba classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. and 6:15 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursdays at 11 a.m. and 6:15 p.m.
