U.S. Air Force to release HH-60G accident investigation findings

Officials from Air Combat Command, headquartered here, will conduct a press conference at 2 p.m. July 3 at Moody Air Force Base, Ga., to release the findings of the accident investigation board on the cause of the March 23 HH-60G crash in Afghanistan.

Brig. Gen. Greg Power, the accident investigation board president, will release the board findings and will be available to address questions related to the investigation.

The crew of six airmen from the 41st and 38th Rescue squadrons, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga., died as a result of the crash. The aircraft, valued at more than $21 million, was destroyed. The crew was en route to support a medical evacuation mission when the incident occurred.

Media wishing to attend the press conference must respond by 4 p.m. Wednesday by contacting the Moody public affairs office at 229-257-2400. Media representatives should arrive at the Moody gate no later than 1 p.m.
