Building Inspiration brick by brick; Marine mom honors son's service through Lego creations

Recall the toys you played with as a child- were they dolls, blocks, or trucks? Looking back on these memories can evoke a strong sense of nostalgia. This same nostalgia was ignited for many as they stepped through the doors of the Dulles Expo Center to see BrickFair, an eastern United States Lego fan expo and convention. The Lego exhibits towered above the spectators, bringing a sense of wonder to all attending. Iconic movies, beloved TV shows and popular books were brought to life through displays that moved, shimmered with lights or played music. Amidst the many displays stood the iconic Marine Corps Eagle, Globe, and Anchor.

Marine for Life Network Representatives from units across the Marine Corps came together June 5-9 at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va. The annual meeting is a chance for the team to train together, share resources, and collaborate on ways to better assist Marines transitioning out of the Corps into civilian life.

First Corps-wide squad competition in nearly 30 years

U.S. Marine Corps infantry rifle squads from across all four divisions participated in the Corps’ service-wide Rifle Squad Competition hosted by Training Command on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, April 23-27, 2023. The ‘super squad’ style competition took the best squads from competitions at each of the four Marine divisions and saw them face off against each other head-to-head.
