Dr. Kevin Sowers, Associate Director and Professor at the University of Maryland Baltimore County’s Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology, discusses his team’s experiments with remediating the bio-availability of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in Abraham’s Creek at MCB Quantico. The team made a fourth visit to the site on Sept. 15, to pull core samples from the creek bottom. Their study is funded by Department of Defense’s Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP).
