Information Operations (IO) includes all actions taken to affect enemy information and information systems while defending friendly information and information systems.  IO is focused on the adversary’s key decision-makers and is conducted during all phases of an operation, across the range of military operations, and at every level.  IO, in planning and execution, seeks to coordinate MAGTF Actions and communications and enhance all MAGTF Operations.

 

Military Information Support Operations (MISO) are planned operations to convey selected truthful information to foreign audiences to influence their emotions motives objective reasoning and ultimately their behavior.

IO Capabilities Application and Planning Course (1st IO Command, Ft. Belvoir, VA)


MISO Training

Psychological Operations course at the JFK Special Warfare Center and School Ft Bragg, NC
Tactical Debriefer Course in Dam Neck, VA
Information Operations Intermediate training course in Little Creek, VA
Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape (SERE) School at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, ME

 Requirements
GT Score of 100 or higher
Obligated for 36 months of service
Have a secret clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI
 Become an IO Marine
