Bluebell flowers cover Merrimac Farm during the annual Bluebell Festival in Nokesville, Virginia, March 30, 2025. Bluebell flowers only bloom for a few weeks in the early springtime, which marks part of the significance of the festival. Another unique aspect of bluebell flowers, is that they specifically grow on floodplains and glow blue when observed from a distance in the sunlight. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Miranda C. DeKorte)
