Big buddies and little buddies participate in the yarn toss in which a buddy throws a ball of rainbow-colored yarn across the circle while holding one end. When the yarn is caught, the person tells how their loved one died and who they are to them. Once everyone has caught the yarn ball it forms a spider web-like configuration, signifying the chaos of loss and the many emotions felt during grief symbolized by the many colors.
