The war between Mexico and the U.S. is the main theme of this window. From Chapulte-pec, Mexico City and the Halls of Montezuma could be seen. To the left of the central figure is a bursting bomb, an ornament worn on the coattails of the officer’s uniforms at the time of the Mexican war and later adopted in 1916 as a symbol of rank for Marine gunners.
