Dr. Upal Ghosh examines core samples taken from Abraham’s Creek on Sept. 15. At a previous visit to the site, Ghosh and his team treated one plot of the creek with activated carbon and one plot with a combination of carbon and anaerobic and aerobic microorganisms. In lab studies, the carbon and microorganisms were shown to work effectively together to block the availability of PCBs to the food chain.
