At approximately 7:25 a.m. the firemen were the first responders to the fire, where they recovered four individuals. The fire started on the second floor of a bedridden elderly man. Preliminary reports indicate that there were many who fled the fire by foot. Once the fire was extinguished, the firemen recovered Frank Anthony DeSanto, age 69, and first responders pronounced him dead on the scene.
