Brig. Gen. Joseph Shrader, commander, Marine Corps Systems Command, experiences the effects of the Active Denial System at Marine Base Quantico on Oct. 30. The ADS was demonstrated for multiple services and government agencies. The non-lethal weapons system creates an intolerable heating sensation that engages the body’s instinctive flight response.
