In the north attic of the National Museum of Natural History, Kelsey Falquero, museum technician with the Smithsonian Institution’s Office of Education and Outreach, uses two stuffed owls to illustrate the importance of photographing items with an object that can be referenced for scale. Her audience is a group of civil affairs Marines attending the Marine Corps Civil-Military Operations School aboard Quantico, who toured the museum Nov. 13 as part of their arts, monuments and archives training.
