MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. -- The crowd seemed to be holding its breath turnover after turnover, the overtimes seemed like they would never end.
Combat Camera and Officer Candidates School went head to head in their intramural basketball game at Barber Physical Activity Center on Jan. 29, 2013. OCS won 65-63.
The game began with the referee whistle and toss up of the ball. Combat Camera reached the jump ball first, but OCS started off with the lead.
“Every day is a growing process and together we just maintain each other, maintain great team cohesion now we’re just getting better as we go on throughout the season,” said Therlyn Cotin, the assistant coach for the OCS basketball team.
By halftime, however, Combat Camera led by seven points, 38-31.
“They had a great team, great shooters I will say that,” said Cotin.
During the second half, the teams went back and forth, fighting for the lead. By the time the clock struck zero, the score was tied with 52 points. One overtime led to a second then to a third. Finally OCS took the win 65-63.
