G-7 CPI Mission

To support the Region / Installation Commander in making operations throughout the installation easier, better, faster, and cheaper; To provide external affairs support to develop regional partnerships and engagement.

G-7 CPI Goals & Objectives

Performance and External Affairs understands that Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) is a critical component of the pursuit of business excellence and the foundation of all major quality frameworks. Through the use of CPI, we align processes of organizations with their strategic objectives by:

  • Analyzing processes using DMAIC and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Reducing lead and process times throughout the organization.
  • Increase employee engagement and morale among employees.
  • Reduced staff turnover.
  • Increase productivity and process efficiency through the use of the DMAIC framework and Lean Six Sigma tools.
  • Produce higher quality products by making processes; easier, better, faster, cheaper.
  • Teaching Continuous Process Improvement and Lean Six Sigma to individuals and organizations located on Marine Corps Base Quantico.

  • Lean Six Sigma Training

    Our Yellow belt and Green Belt training provides the individual (and ultimately the organization) the understanding and the tools necessary to recognize areas for tremendous improvement and  eliminate problems, remove waste and inefficiency, and improve working conditions to provide a better response to customers' needs

    Courses are offered on MCB Quantico to Active Duty and DoD Civilians, Class sizes are limited to 25 students due to space constraints. We provide organizational specific training as well!

  • Yellow Belt
    • Course Description

      Yellow Belt

      This course provides awareness of Continuous Process Improvement combined with Lean Six Sigma concepts that are proven to improve an organization’s quality and efficiency, while at the same time reduce cost and time spent performing tasks. These tools can be used in any working environment.

      This course provides employees with the tools necessary to improve their workplace by identifying waste and non-value added tasks. In addition to this, this course will prepare employees to participate on process improvement events and projects, reducing the time needed to get team members up to speed.  There are no prerequisites or training fees associated with the course.  We believe this training is beneficial to all levels of employees and will have a positive return on investment for those who apply the tools provided.

  • Green Belt
    • Course Description

      Green Belt

      Prerequisites: You must complete the following steps to be eligible to complete our green belt course.

      1. Complete Yellow Belt Training:
      Through our program or submit supporting documentation to our office that Yellow Belt Training has been completed
      .

      2. Complete a Yellow Belt 5s Project:
      Examples of 5S projects are organizing your: share drive files, office supply cabinet, folder cabinets, printer areas, etc. Please take before and after pictures or screenshots to display the improvements. (Project must be provided to MCINCR-MCBQ_CPI_PROGRAM@usmc.mil once completed). 5s Examples and templates are provided below via MilSuite.

      3. Have a Green Belt Process Rapid Improvement Event (RIE) or Project identified:

      You will need to submit a SIPOC and Problem Statement for your project. This information will be captured on our Green Belt Registration Form (link below). ***A 5s Project is NOT a RIE or a Green Belt Project ***

       

      Green Belt Course

      This 5-day course expands upon the Continuous Process Improvement/Lean Six Sigma concepts from Yellow Belt training which are proven to improve organization, quality and efficiency, while reducing cost and time spent performing tasks in office and production environments.  This course will prepare employees to facilitate process improvement events and projects utilizing the DMAIC problem solving framework.  USMC Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Mentoring and Certification is available for students after successful completion of this course. There is no training fee associated with the course.
