Col. Matthey McNerney, the executive officer of Marine Corps Embassy Security Group, for heroic acts performed while off-duty during an awards ceremony on Quantico, Virginia, April 6, 2023. Darby and two other Marines received the award after intervening during an altercation between civilians involving a knife.
