Water line flushing in Thomason Park 27 Feb 2015 | Oscar Almond Marine Corps Base Quantico PRINT SHARE MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. -- Wednesday we began flushing of the water lines servicing Thomason Park to provide the highest quality water possible. To some degree, North Lyman Park residents may be impacted. The flushing is designed to remove any sediment from the system that naturally builds up over time. While most of this sediment will be ejected through our flushing process, it will disturb the flow of water to individual houses resulting in reduced pressure and increased particulate. Throughout this process, it is safe to use the water for all purposes, but the clarity may be periodically affected. This is normal. All testing of the water over the past week at our water plant, the water tower servicing Thomason Park and at individual dwellings have confirmed that the water is and continues to be safe to drink. We will notify residents once the flushing is complete and will provide information on how to flush the water from housing units which is a simple but well proven process. We appreciate your patience.
