U.S. Marine Corps Col. Jenny Colegate, the new commanding officer of Marine Corps Base Quantico, addresses the audience during a change of command ceremony on MCBQ Virginia, July 2, 2024. Col. Michael L. Brooks, the outgoing commanding officer of MCBQ, relinquished command to Colegate after serving as the commander for almost three years. “I refer to Marine Corps Base Quantico as a village, and I do that on purpose,” Brooks said. “It’s not all about the capabilities, but those [people in Quantico] who involve themselves; they insert themselves in to what needs to be done in support of the village.” (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
