Marine Corps Installations National Capital Region - Marine Corps Base Quantico Proudly supports Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month

Nationally, Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month occurs in April and seeks to raise awareness and prevent sexual violence through the use of special events and public education. The 2023 theme for the Department of Defense is "Step Forward. Prevent. Report. Advocate."

Together, we can work to further reduce, with the goal to eliminate, sexual assault from the armed forces. Our military is the most trusted institution in America and our Service Members have signed a blank check to the American people, payable with their lives. This crime must not threaten those who have volunteered to serve.

2023 Virtual Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month Symposium

During April 27th 2023, online training will be provided to benefit Commanders, Senior Enlisted Leadership, Clergy, Behavioral Health Providers, Legal Professionals, Law Enforcement, Sexual Assault Response Coordinators, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Victim Advocates, and others involved in supporting a healthy and safe command climate.

  • Virtual event dates:  April 27, 2023

  • Time will be from 1100-1700 on April 27th

  • This year's theme for the Installation will focus on providing 'World Class Care' to those impacted by sexual violence

  • The theme for DoD this year is, "Step Forward. Prevent. Report. Advocate."

  • The new DoD theme is a call-to-action for individuals at all levels of the Department to use their personal strength to advance positive change in preventing sexual violence

  • Please join the Services in taking a "Step Forward" and highlight the power of acts that can bolster prevention, increase reporting, and promote advocacy for a safer DoD Community
