PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: MCCS Announces it will Maintain grass for Installation Sports
30 May 2018

Quantico Facilities division is responsible for cutting the grass aboard the installation. Currently it is taking work crew three weeks to cycle around the base with priorities going to the ranges and landing zones.

Within that cutting cycle are the recreational fields which are utilized by Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) sports programs. Due to this spring's unseasonably cool weather and significant rainfall, the three-week cycle is not conducive to the needs of the various MCCS sports programs held on Barnett Field.

To mitigate the high grass, MCCS will begin cutting the fields on the off-cycle cutting weeks. This will allow for the grass levels at Barnett Field to be more playable for the sports programs.
