CSACC offers New Year’s Resolutions

The holidays can be a stressful time, so officials at the Consolidated Substance Abuse Counseling Center recommend that Marines and civilians alike start the new year off correctly by taking steps to avoid any future pitfalls.

CSACC’s list of New Year’s Resolutions calls for not only reduced drinking, but also stresses abstinence and the importance of loving one’s own self as among the primary means to avoiding drug and alcohol abuse.

“We’re not all the negative side,” said Pamela Moment, CSACC ‘s drug demand reduction coordinator. “This is on the positive side of things. We’re trying to promote things that help toward a good, healthy life.”

CSACC’s New Year’s suggestions include:

  • Drink no more than two standard drinks per day totaling no more than 14 standard drinks a week
  • No drinking if under the age of 21
  • Love yourself, Stay Drug Free
  • Look out for others and get help. Courage is asking for help when you need it.
  • For further suggestions, call CSACC at 703-784-3502.
