A scheduled electrical outage will affect five base housing neighborhoods and more than 30 other buildings on base on April 27 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Lt. Angel Aviles said the outage will affect most buildings north of the intersection of Barnett Avenue and the railroad. “It’s going to be a pretty big outage,” he said.

The outage will allow workers to test relays and replace batteries and the battery charger at an electrical substation.

Neighborhoods that will experience the outage are Waller Hill, Geiger Ridge, Neville Heights, Masters Hill and McHugh Woods. Other affected buildings include Bruce Hall, Barker Hall, Phipps Hall, Singleton Hall, Mann Hall, the Headquarters and Service Battalion building, Marine Embassy Security Command, Little Hall, the 7-Day Store, Subway, Firestone, Kelly Hall, Liversedge Hall, the Manpower Management Branch building, the Single Marines Program House and several others.
