SMP continues Operation Upgrade, adds mountain bikes

Since late summer the program has renovated their exterior deck, spearheaded efforts to bring a paintball facility aboard the base, all while maintaining an event-packed schedule. Fire Prevention Week 2014 stressing working smoke alarms
October 06, 2014 — Stephen W. Houchin says the goal of Fire Prevention Week isn’t to scare kids about the dangers of fire as much as it is to educate them. It’s for that reason that Houchin, the assistant chief fire prevention for the Quantico Fire & Emergency Services, and his firemen will be visiting each of Quantico’s three elementary schools and two child care centers this month as part of Fire Prevention Week 2014. The weeklong events, whose theme is “Smoke Alarms Save Lives,” will run from Oct. 6-10.

Quantico equips Marines to teach ‘financial situational awareness’
October 06, 2014 — Staff sergeants and above now have an opportunity to bolster their financial expertise with the “Command Financial Specialist” course. The new, weeklong class, hosted by Personal Financial Management Branch, is designed to improve overall financial readiness within Marine units by equipping leaders to teach.
