Capt. Justin Strickler checks on his bees during the 2013 Earth Day on the Rappahonnock at Old Mills Park in Fredricksburg on April 13, 2013. Strickler and Chief Warrant Officer James McWilliams started Honeycomb Heroes, a honey making business, as a hobby in 2011. After attending a SCORE class on how to start your own business at the Chapel Annex on Marine Corps Base Quantico, they decided to get serious about making honey. Within three years of buying their first bee hive, they expect to be in the black this year.
