MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va.— U.S. Marine Corps 1st Sgt. Brandon Smart, the outgoing senior enlisted leader, transferred the authority as the senior enlisted leader of Marine Corps Air Facility Quantico during a relief and appointment ceremony at the air facility on MCB Quantico Dec. 3, 2024.
Military members from the Air Force, Space Force and the Defense Intelligence Agency assigned to Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C., provided professional military leadership, guidance, and mentorship to more than 100 Civil Air Patrol youth cadets at the 2024 CAP National Capital Region Summer Encampment held on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., from June 23 – 28, 2024.
Marine Air Traffic Controllers (ATCs) represent a small slice of the active-duty component. Less than 1,000 of these Marines exist in the service today, with even fewer operating in capacities actually controlling aircraft. Though small in number, these Marines perform a vital “behind the scenes” function for Marine aviation, providing safety and order within their assigned airspace.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Marine Corps launched and has fully implemented QSRMax, which is the service’s main effort to upgrade its maintenance request system from analog to digital.
