U.S. Marine GySgt. Eric Cheshier, Marine of Marine Corps Information Operations Center (MCIOC), receives an award from Henry P. Stawinski III, Chief of Police of Prince George County, as a tribute from the county for emulating outstanding citizenship in Bowie, Md, July 25, 2018,. Gunnery Sgt. Eric Cheshier was awarded the outstanding citizenship award due to his act of heroism during a three car collision on a busy highway on October 17th, 2017 where he rescued a woman who presumably passed out in her car as it caught fire and recused a young teenaged female along with her younger siblings from another car as well.
Commanding Officer of Marine Corps Information Operations Center (MCIOC), informs the Distinguished Visitors (DV) the purpose of the Combined Unit Exercise (CUX) aboard Camp Upshur on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va, Oct. 22, 2018. The CUX 18.2 was a training exercise that allowed U.S. Marines, sister services and Allied Partners to coordinate, integrate, and employ Information Related Capabilities (IRC’S) and share tactics, techniques, procedures to further interoperability for future missions and operations
U.S. Marine Lieutenant General Daniel O’Donohue, Deputy Commandant for Information Headquarters Company awards U.S. Marine Sergeant James M. Niemeier, Military Information Support Operations (MISO) Non Commissioned Officers with MISO Company, the Navy and Marine Corps Medal at Camp Upshur Quantico, VA on March 16, 2018. The Navy and Marine Corps Medal is the highest non-combat decoration awarded. Sergeant Niemeier was recognized for his quick actions, presence of mind, and selfless behavior which served as a driving force behind preventing a fellow Marine from taking his own life. VISION
The MCIOC will establish IO as a valued and critical element of combined arms.

MISSION STATEMENT
The MCIOC provides operational support to the Marine Components and MAGTFs and provides IO subject matter expertise in support of USMC IO advocates and proponents IOT enable the effective integration of IO into Marine Corps operations.
DEFINITION OF INFORMATION OPERATIONS
Information Operations is the integration, coordination, and synchronization of all actions taken in the information environment to affect a target audience’s behavior in order to create an operational advantage for the commander.
