With the government shutdown effective at midnight, Jan. 20, a number of base programs and services will be impacted across Quantico beginning Jan. 20 and continuing until federal funding has been restored.
Only operations and activities which are essential to the safety and protection of both human life and of our national security are authorized. This includes only maintaining the minimum number of civilian employees’ necessary to carry out those activities. These include but are not limited to security and emergency services (police, fire, and EMS), utilities, training ranges, chow halls, and more. Non-appropriated fund activities (Marine Corps Community Services) are generally exempt, but will experience a number of closings and/or reduced services.
