COMMANDERS GUIDANCE: Col. Joe Murray, Commanding Officer, MCINCR-MCB Quantico

2 Mar 2018 | Col. Joseph M. Murray/Commanding Officer, MCINCR-MCBQ Marine Corps Base Quantico

Quantico Community,

Due to present conditions and sustained High Wind Warning forecasted to remain through the night between 22 - 30 mph with gusts as high as 55 mph through early Saturday morning, MCB Quantico will remain under Operating Status code RED.  As the situation evolves we will communicate changes in the operating status via www.quantico.marines.mil, the Quantico Emergency Mass Notification System, Facebook, Twitter and our installation hotline (703) 784-3638.

I personally ask for your patience as our maintenance crews work around-the-clock to restore your power and services to the installation.  Our priority remains on the safety and security of our people and we want to ensure you are well taken care of.  We are working diligently with Dominion Energy to restore power to family housing areas, followed by our barracks, chow halls and service areas (MCCS managed amenities).

If you chose to leave the safety of your home please be careful, have a plan, and make sure where you are going is actually open before you depart.

For a detailed list of social media resources regarding our installation's many amenities, please visit the Quantico Office of Communication webpage at http://www.quantico.marines.mil/Offices-Staff/Quantico-Office-of-Communication/.  There is additional information about the status of many of our quality-of-life services at the bottom of our homepage which you can view via the embedded calendar here, http://www.quantico.marines.mil/.

Thank you for your patience.
Semper Fi!
Joe Murray
